Why video helps real estate auctions

Real estate Auctioneers who use video to promote their properties say they are attracting younger buyers and improving online marketing.

For years, United Country-Coffey Realty & Auction, Bloomington, Ind., has incorporated 360-degree tours of its properties online. Jimmie Dean Coffey, CAI, AARE, BAS, CES, GPPA, says his company can have the digital videos, which provide 360-degree views of every room in a house, produced at a relatively low cost.

Lately, though, Coffey has been using the Flip Video Camcorder to take his own online video. He simply starts out in front of a property, taking video in all directions, and then proceeds inside to record the interior.

Coffey says the Flip camera, and the software that comes with the device, is simple to use. He incorporates music and text into his videos before publishing them to YouTube.
